They are among the most important representatives of the artistic period of modern painting, whose Werke located in the Neue Pinakothek. The Gallery is situated in Munich and is a Museum of European art of the 19th century and modern painting is represented here. With its two sister institutions, the Alte Pinakothek and Pinakothek der Moderne, it forms a part that belongs to a museum district, the Kunstareal Munich.
